colors...

I'm noticing that the pictures of my art look a bit muted....so am trying to fix that but please know these are all vibrant pure colors.

Just a thought....

Can I just say...where did June go?  I've lost it and can't get it back but I did get some painting done - YEA!  I'm really trying to do new things that also incorporate a flower.  Let me know what you think as you view the next few pieces.   Also, if you have an idea of what to paint send me a note...my goal this fall is to take some art workshops that will stretch me as a new artist yet can embrace my whimsical style.

Becky's Flower

This is another custom piece for my friend, Becky.  She redecorated her bathroom and the theme was a Stephen Morath print....which I, also, have one of his prints and I love his art.  His whimsical style has inspired me to paint in a bright and fun style.  So to have my artwork in conjunction with his to bring her bathroom to life is kind a cool.

Giggle

Giggle is my first 36x36 custom piece.  My cousin Julie in Sioux Falls, SD requested an oversized piece to match her dining room.  As we chuckled on the phone and sent emails back and forth we came up with the word Giggle.   She sent me some pictures of her home; we talked about the look and feel she wanted and this is what adorns her walls today.  It was a welcome challenge to take my style and translate it to fit someone's vision and home.  When she sends me a pic of where it is hanging I'll post it so you can see where some of my artwork lives.

SOLD, obviously but giclee prints are available.

Fiesta Garden

Staying with the vibrant southwest flair I named this one Fiesta Garden.  I vision myself sitting on a patio with a margarita looking at all the desert wildflowers and the rainbow of colors it produces.  Here's a bit of background info...this started as a light blue and lavender duo but my paint brushes had something else in mind...thank goodness.  This one is much better.

Cactus Sunset

Arizona goes whimsy!  I love saguaro cactus so thought I'd paint one.  Of course I couldn't have a cactus without a colorful sunset and a friendly lizard.  Another attempt of something other than my beloved daisy which seems to make it's way into every painting.  Keep you're eye out for another cactus...coming soon.

Peek-A-Boo...yikes!

Cute kitty spies a mouse...in a patch of flowers.  This painting came to life because I didn't have a square canvas.  I'm experimenting with "my style" but in other motifs.  So if you don't like it it's because it has a mouse in it...eeeek!
