Up Next....oh my!

Up next is a FUN and WHIMSICAL play with nudes....getting ready for the Nude Show at Lincoln Gallery in Loveland.  My dad, Bill, and I are combining our talents.  He does awesome characters that I will use in my wacky collages.  So need to give these nudes some skin so am hand painting flesh tones.  Can't wait to see what comes of this adventure~what music will play in my studio to
bring these bodies to life....maybe some Bare Naked Ladies?

Sweet Art Show

The Lincoln Galley in Loveland, Co hosted The Sweet Art Show.  Opening reception was Feb 14, 2014.  It was a nice event where I met more local artists.  Since moving here this was my first event I've been able to attend.  I'm looking forward to more evenings out and mingling with new faces!

"Love Notes" was awarded 2nd Place in Mixed Media!  So excited to be recognized amongst very talented creatives!

Some of the other artwork exhibited for The Sweet Art Show.  It will be on display Feb 1- Feb 28th.

Adult Children!!

No kids left at our house....We made it and our 3 kids all turned a year older.  Austin is 28 and has a wonderful family and goes to ASU.  He is in his junior year at the Walter Cronkite School of Broadcasting and Journalism.  Connor is 20! No more teen years for him.  He continues to take life as it comes...much like his mom.  He works graveyard at 7-11 and right on schedule....trying to figure out what he wants to do.  Kate is the big 18!  Such a beautiful young woman inside and out.

Current works!

Happy Birthday!  Jeweled Aspens was a gift for her 20th birthday!   I love it when my art is given as a gift.  Extra fun when I know the family.  So special!

This year for Valentine's Day I painted "Love Notes" .  They are on 8x8 gallery wrapped canvas.  I hunted for sheet music with love songs and I found one from the 80's and 90's...pretty funny to flip thru the pages and remember when.  HA
I still have a couple left...$50 each

Then I taught myself how to knit....or at least this hat.  Not sure about other things yet.  I love learning new artistic methods even if I won't be using them in my paintings.  It opens that flow of creativity when is oh so inspiring.  Anxious to see what I make next.

Trying NEW things.....

Abstracts, darker colors and knitting!  All new territory for me and I intend to take all 3 head on in 2014!  These photos are just a sampling of what I experimenting with....we shall see what music inspires me as these come to their final outcome....da da dun!!! ominous music in the background.

Stretching myself as a person and an artist is something that keeps me motivated.  It's fun to play with new techniques I've learned or just discover while swishing paint around and glueing papers...oh and the knitting.  Well thought that would be fun to learn when my sis in law, Jessica, showed me what she was learning....and I live in cold country know and figured I need some hats, mittens and scarves.  Plus it's art on the go when I can't paint.

The Best Compliment EVER!

My dad and I combined efforts to create a few holiday painitngs.  The snowman was received with holiday merriment from by Facebook peeps.  I had 2 people send me photos of their rendition of our snowman!  What an honor and so thrilled they love my art but more impressed that they each  took the time to enjoy art themselves!

Kathy is an Occupational Therapist in Phx, AZ.  She loves to incorporate art in the kid's therapy.  This was their snowman they did....He is fabulous~very proud to see this.

Kim created this festive guy and then produced gift cards to sell as a fundraiser to help a friend who was unemployed.  How awesome is that~ART heals and helps!  Very proud we spurred your creative side.
